Important Info & FAQ

Tuition & Payments

Tuition is paid monthly and is due on the 1st of the month. August tuition is pro-rated.

- Tuition is set up to allow for holiday breaks, as well as unexpected closures (ie.winter weather).

- A statement will be sent ahead of the payment due date and reflect the current balance on your account.

- Auto payment is highly recommended and is available on the Parent Portal. We accept both credit, debit and checking accounts online.

- If paying in studio, cash or check only is accepted. Place your payments in the payment envelope with the student's name and place it in the payment drop box.

- Payments not received by the 10th of the month will be subject to a late fee as stated in the fee structure.

- Return payments (Check or Cards) will be subject to a return payment fee as stated in the fee structure.

Recital/Registration Fee

A one time $60 nonrefundable fee is charged to all accounts upon registration (per student). This is to hold your spot in the class, as well as assist with recital costs.  The one-time fee is used for costs associated with the venue for both the Christmas and Spring shows. It also gives you access to advanced ticket sales, and each student to receive a Spring Recital t-shirt in May. If you were enrolled in the 2022-2023 season on May 20, 2023--then your recital/registration fee is reduced to $50 per student.

Absences & Make Ups

If you know your dancer will be missing an upcoming class, you can note that in the Parent Portal (but not required). For our regular classes (non-private) if classes are held, no makeups or refunds are available.

Parent Portal & Communication

The Parent Portal will allow you to see your invoices, check your balance, as well as pay right online! You have the option to pay via personal checking account or any credit/debit card automatically! The option also exists to just go online and enter a payment each month. Important announcements, class information, and much more will be communicated through the portal. You have the ability to communicate with your dancers' teachers and more!

Communication is key! Please do not hesitate to reach out to Ms. Abby and keep her informed of any issues, including financial concerns. We are a dance family, and we will work together to make sure your dancer truly has a magical experience at The Floor and finances will never be an issue as long as you communicate with us.

Full drop/cancel policy and other important financial agreements are included when you register your dancer. We encourage you to read it carefully and let us know if you have any questions.

My child cries on the way to dance class but seems to enjoy class once we arrive. What should I do?

There could be many reasons why your child says they do not want to go to dance class. The first thing you should do is reach out to the teacher. By letting us know, we can evaluate the situation together and work towards a solution that is best for your child. In our experience it is usually not "going to dance class" that is the reason for the tears, especially if they enjoy themselves once they get into class. Rather, it is a change in routine. This could happen with a big move, a new baby in the family, starting school/daycare, or the simple fact that they are hungry or tired. The teacher will be able to evaluate the dancer in class to see if there are certain skills or concepts the child may be struggling with that could be causing the push back. After speaking together and deciding what could be causing the tears, a clearer understanding will appear, and a plan can be put into place. Open communication is key!
